How to play
The NOBK Online build is the PC port DOAX2 Recomp v1.1.4 with online play added: the same game, plus Xbox LIVE rooms, ranked results and leaderboards through our server.
None of this would exist without hibikifukui22’s DOAX2 Recomp: Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 recompiled from the Xbox 360 to run natively on Windows, with a native 60 FPS mode at the original game speed, resolution scaling and a full launcher for graphics and controls. Our build only adds the online part on top. Thank you! If you enjoy the game, give the project a star on GitHub.
Built on the ReXGlue SDK (from Xenia). And of course thanks to Team NINJA and Koei Tecmo for the game itself; this project is not affiliated with or endorsed by Koei Tecmo, Team NINJA or Microsoft. What you need

New install
Download and extract
Download the NOBK Online build above and extract it into its own folder, for example C:\Games\DOAX2 (not inside Program Files).
Add your game
Extract your own Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 Xbox 360 disc (for example with extract-xiso) into the extracted game files here folder, so that default.xex sits directly inside it.
Only use a copy of a game you own. We never distribute game files, ISOs or download links, and we can't help you find them.
Sign in to NOBK Online
Start DOAX2 Recomp Launcher.exe, click NOBK ONLINE at the top right and sign in with your NOBK Online username and password. Your password is never saved; the launcher remembers you next time.
To the beach
Keep Play Online on, choose 60 FPS or 30 FPS and press PLAY. In the game open Xbox LIVE and pick Ranked or Player Match: host a room or join one. Ranked volleyball matches update your WinPoint, and every match shows up on the Live page.
Already playing the original port?
If you already have DOAX2 Recomp from the project’s releases, you don’t start over: your saves, settings and extracted game stay.
Close the game
Make sure the launcher and doax2.exe are closed. If you like, copy the userdata folder somewhere safe first (your saves).
Extract the NOBK build over it
Extract the NOBK Online zip into your existing folder and choose Replace for the files it asks about (the launcher, doax2.exe, the .dll files). userdata, config and your extracted game are not in the zip, so they are not touched.
Start the launcher, click NOBK ONLINE and sign in as above.
Controls
Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and most other controllers work. The keyboard works as a controller too:
FAQ
Which modes work online?
The game's own Xbox LIVE mode: beach volleyball and jet ski races, as Ranked or Player Match, in rooms you host or join.
Do I need to open ports or use a VPN?
No. The game connects out to our relay, so it works behind any home router. If Windows Firewall asks about doax2.exe, allow it.
Can I play at 60 FPS online?
Yes. Pick 60 FPS in the launcher (Guest V-Sync on in Graphics Settings). Everyone in a room should use the same NOBK Online build.
Can I still play offline?
Yes. Turn Play Online off in the launcher's NOBK ONLINE box and the game is exactly the original port. Your saves stay in userdata.
Something doesn't work
Send us the newest doax2_*.log from out\game\logs through the site’s contact address ([email protected]), with what you were doing when it happened. Never send game files or your config folder.
Is it free? Who made it?
Free; you only need your own copy of the game. The PC port is hibikifukui22’s DOAX2 Recomp (BSD 3-Clause); NOBK Online adds the online part on top of its v1.1.4 and runs the server, in Germany, at its own cost.
A new version of the original port is out
We bring the online part over to new versions and post the new NOBK build here. Until then keep playing the NOBK build: the original version has no online play, so the launcher's UPDATE page is removed in our build.
