How to play
WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 runs natively on PC thanks to the open-source WWE-SVR2009-RECOMP project (a native port of the Xbox 360 version). The NOBK Online build is a fork of it: the same game, plus online matches, ranked play and leaderboards through our server.
What you need
New install
Download and extract
Download the NOBK Online build above and extract it into its own folder, for example C:\Games\SVR2009 (not inside Program Files).
Add your game
Make a legal dump of your own WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 Xbox 360 disc (USA / Europe) and put it next to svr2009.exe: either the .iso, or the extracted game folder. On the first start the game asks for your game: pick the .iso, or default.xex inside the extracted folder. It remembers it from then on.
Only use a copy of a game you own. We never distribute game files, ISOs or download links, and we can't help you find them.
Sign in to NOBK Online
Start svr2009.exe, press F1 (or Back + Start on a controller), choose NOBK Online and sign in with your NOBK Online username and password. The game restarts once and is online from then on; it remembers you next time.
Into the ring
In the main menu go to Xbox LIVE: host a room or join one with Quick Match / Custom Match. Ranked matches count for the leaderboards and the monthly belt; every match shows up on the Live page and in your profile, with your superstar.
Already playing the original PC version?
If you already have SVR2009-NATIVE from the project’s releases, you don’t start over: your saves, settings, DLC and music stay.
Close the game
Make sure svr2009.exe is not running. If you like, copy the userdata folder somewhere safe first (your saves).
Extract the NOBK build over it
Extract the NOBK Online zip into your existing game folder and choose Replace for the program files (svr2009.exe, svr2009_vulkan.exe, the .dll files). Choose Skip for svr2009.toml to keep your settings. userdata, dlc, music and your .iso are not in the zip, so they are not touched.
Start the game, press F1 and sign in to NOBK Online as above.
FAQ
Which match types work online?
Everything the original Xbox LIVE mode offered: 1v1, tag team, triple threat and fatal 4-way, with the game's match types (ladder, steel cage, ...), as ranked or player matches.
Do I need to open ports or use a VPN?
No. The game connects out to our relay, so it works behind any home router.
Can I still play offline?
Yes. Everything else in the game works as in the original PC version; online only adds the Xbox LIVE menu.
Steam Deck / Linux?
Add svr2009.exe to Steam as a non-Steam game and force Proton Experimental, exactly as in the original project's README. The game picks Vulkan by itself.
Something doesn't work
Send us the game.log file next to svr2009.exe through the site’s contact address ([email protected]), with what you were doing when it happened.
Is it free? Who made it?
Free; you only need your own copy of the game. The PC port is the WWE-SVR2009-RECOMP project (GPL-3.0); NOBK Online adds the online part and runs the server, in Germany, at its own cost.
